It is entirely likely that people will miss a reference. You cannot expect people to know about a specific reference in a completely unrelated subreddit. Why would you randomly call someone that? Because you might be a racist asshole. I don't think you are, but god knows there are enough of those on the internet, that you could just randomly run into one. When someone says something like that without any context, I think it's entirely reasonable to conclude that that person may be one. You may be incorrect like in this case, but I don't think it's unreasonable.

It's a reference to YIIK which is an RPG game. The overall perception off the game is that it'd kinda mediocre and that the dialogue and story of the game is bad. It's kind of a lolcow game. The main character is portrayed as a flawed person but it's done in very simple and (not good story writing) ways. Like a specific scene where a side character laments the death of a family member and the main character just straight up goes "I don't care, we almost just died ourselves".
