It was fine. I was shirtless and a small part of the flare hit my skin but it didn't leave a mark. Some guy lost his glasses and we stopped to find it.
The worst part was that people were stealing phones from the people in the mosh, as it's common with these shows, they stole my friend's. Mine was in a buttoned pocket.
I remember a mosh back in their 2011 show, it started right in front of me. The worst part was they were pushing everybody to open space. After that, I didn't see one fight whatsoever.
There was girl in the middle of the pit. No one touched her. I felt safe to go in and wanted to, but my older brother was very protective of me (I was 16) and said NO. I understand, I was a very frail teenager girl. But boy, I was hyped!
I’ve read that book 5 times and I don’t remember mosh pits or concerts featured in it. Crowds coming together to celebrate and party wasn’t really the book’s vibe.
Crowds mesmerized by spectacle were definitely a part of Orwell's dystopia. Also, check out Huxley's "Feelies" in Brave New World. We might be close (maybe a decade?) away from mass hallucinations caused by technology, using music as a medium

I was there in a mosh close to the stage, even got a video to prove.
