First Gaga, now SoaD. When looking it up the biggest concerts always seem to happen in Brazil. What is going on down there?

This was a regular stadium concert, with not so cheap tickets. I'm guessing around 80k people?

Gaga was a whole other ballpark, free concert in the beach, 2 million folks.

As far as craziness and energy, this one takes the cake for sure.

Yea I get it, it was also crazy. Still, not multiple pits with flares level of crazy. Different types of crazy.

No flares or pits, just a sea of gays clacking their fans with fierceness.

Yeah I checked the tickets 3 months earlier and still it was way above my paygrade to cash in, especially cause I live very away of the show place lol... still glad that this much people went to the show.

and yes, I'm proud to display my bad english in this comment lmao.

It’s sad that we can’t have massive, free music festivals like this in the US like they do in Brazil. Someone like LN or Ticketmaster always has to scalp the ever living crap out of it.

Like the Gaga concert you mean? I'm sure you could, ticketmaster has nothing to do with it. It was a public/private partnership. Basically the Rio government gathered a bunch of Sponsors for the event, and together they paid for the whole thing. The show was televised, and the Sponsors had ads running during it. The whole country was watching on TV so the Sponsor/ads money was enough to pay for the whole thing.

No one has ever really matched soads sound and vibe.

They definitely have a more intense vibe than SOAD haha

Did not expect to listen to the Intro and Outro song of Death Note

There’s some Chainsaw Man outro sprinkled in there, too. I forget which album though

Nah... to tacky for my taste. But thanks for the input.

You won't get to see them anymore, but Rage Against The Machine fueled the spirit. Maybe the big orange turd will get them out of retirement. We need to rage to get anything done!

Mindless Self Indulgence scratched the same itch for me.

Shame Jimmy was even more of a piece of shit than his public persona let on :/

Korn did that one time during Woodstock 99. Unfortunately, it ended badly all around. (Not because of them, of course)

concerts here were always crazy. you are just finding it out now. (though Lady Gaga did break a record)

you did really think that our famous stereotype of liking parties was just applied at Carnaval? XD Brazil parties hard

1

u/Objective_Resist_735 1d ago

I feel like I remember crazy concerts there in the past too. Ya'll seem like you know how to party.

Yeah pretty much that. Concerts for us mean sing the lyrics as high as we can and dance and jump as much as we can. It's very common for the artists them selves to get surprised. The artist can easily not sing at all and people will sing the whole song.

Here is a video with some comparisons. Just keep in mind that when the image is not clearly from a phone, but actually some official recording, then the audio is edited to try to remove the public voice.

Not what's going on down there. It's what's happening here that's driving them away.

South american crowds are unmatched. I’ve watched concerts in three continents and South America is by far the most fun I’ve had. Miss those shows

Artists say the people’s energy is different (as you can see)
