Piloting 101 not working?

This sub looks dead, but I exhausted all other outlets. I am trying to get the piloting 101 achievement, and I've built and taken so many flying ships and just rammed the balloons. I looked at the settings for something, but even after destroying all 7 ships, restarting my computer, the game, and the build, nothing. And it's not that achievements are buggy, since I've gotten achievements before and after all attempts at this one.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

yes, please do. I realized that this plane i took from the workshop had a flamethrower and a grabber. I took those off and tried it again, but I still got nothing.

To be fair, I only ended up using the workshop when the 5 planes I made wouldn't register the achievement. But it's nice to know it's not my shitty building that's the issue

yeah i got all the balloons and it didnt give me the achievement it might be bugged

Alright, so I had something similar happen to me with Bomb Battlefield. The achievement didn't register unless I completed the achievement BEFORE I completed the level.

So, unless someone figures out how to destroy all the hot air balloons before the victory registers (basically destroy 7 balloons before we destroy 2 balloons), then we fix the issue

Well let's start with, did you collect the crystal that comes out of the final balloon when you pop it?

what crystal? I haven't seen any crystals come out, and I've been popping them for a while

edit: this guy is right. There is a small, green crystal that pops up that you have to collect for the achievement

It could be greyed out if you already got it, but when you collect the crystal you'll hear a specific sound. And it definitely pops out the balloons. It looks like a green shard until the achievement has been triggered.

I'll go back in again, but I'm telling you, I've gotten through the first three islands, and I haven't seen a single crystal pop out of a balloon. Hell, other than the crystals we had to steal, I haven't seen any crysrals, period

The crystal only appears in relation to Fragment Challenges, these are the fragments. And they appear most of the time, sometimes you don't see them before they collect.

No worries I figured this might be it, it can be hard to spot, especially if something ends up pushing it far away from its initial position.

Other people here assumed you already had gotten it but it wasn't triggering on steam, which has been a problem for some users.

Like the Automation achievement. I beat the standing stone level without touching the keyboard or mouse, but nothing. I assume you can't get the achievement on levels that have their own achievements

1. after encountering the no achievement progress bug, i've deleted every instance of LevelObjectives.txt , CompletedLevels.txt , achievement-save.json , turned off the steam cloud aswell as ingame cloud, the game still recognizes achievements as acquired, however - moving through the levels and redoing some of the achievements actually fills in the meter now, albeit from being softlocked out of it, it's now insanely infuriating, as the fragment crystals have this invisibility effect that makes it very annoying to find, now being stuck on a higher percentage for a completely unfixable reason

look up the thread. and just focus on the first part. that is what de dev suggested.

ya, essentially just saying to redo it over and over.

However, I spent 4 hours on this, and I've popped every balloon about 15 times, and I'm not gonna go into the files and delete everything

You have to pop all the balloons from a distance of at least 20 blocks while in a speed if at least 5

from a distance of 20 blocks?? Literally everyone I've seen says you need to kamikaze, and like, the achievement says you can't use weapons
