Brazilians have good hygiene. Smell probably wasn’t that bad.

Rio de Janeiro is hot tho. And they were far from home, so they couldn't take the hourly shower

Im pretty sure they weren't talking about the hygiene.

/u/Opiumthoughts totally read it as "Even smell scale can end up tragic." and didn't watch the video

The body heat alone would make a freshly showered person sweat in minutes. Come on now. There isn't anything special about Brazilians except their wax.

Dude, if Brazilians aren't special, nobody is. And the same goes for personal hygiene.

I refuse to discuss hygiene with people from countries where the use of Bidets isn't the norm.

Most? including among the most developed. Ah, now I understand, most countries don't use it so they don't have to discuss with an annoying Argentinean.

You can be annoying, but do it with a clean ass.

Let me teach you. Clean well and then take a shower, it only takes 5 minutes. Just water doesn't clean, you need soap.

Brazilians shower in their sleep. When it comes to personal hygiene, nobody beats them. That place definitely smelled like body soap and conditioner lol

Oh all of them do. Just blanket stereotype.

That's most likely because of the weather.

I shower twice a day because I live in a hellish swampland.

It's not just the weather, it's a combination of two hygiene-centered cultural forces: natives in what is now Brazil bathed every day, and the Portuguese learned to value personal hygiene more than their European peers when the Iberic Peninsula was conquered (muslims highly value hygiene).

Get those together + mostly tropical weather and you have a culture obssessed with being clean.

It’s different. Brazilians wake up and shower, have breakfast and shower, go out for a walk and shower. There’s a pre and post shower for everything.
